Orthodox church music

The a capella music accompanies the orthodox masses since the oldest times. With a special and one of a kind art it reveals the transcendental essence of our being. The music unites the images of biblical Jerusalem and of antique Byzantine in a magnificent harmony. When the holy verses of the texts sound, every believing soul feels the rhythms of the One United Apostle Church.
Most of the chants are sung in church-slavonic / old-bulgarian, others in romanian, russian, serb and greek language.

Bulgarian Folklore

The bulgarian folklore music is a part of the traditions of the Balkans, which spreads across Southeast Europe and has its specific tone. There are false claims that bulgarian vowels are "open". Actually the singers concentrate their voices in a way that gives the tone strength and focus and carries it this way across long distances.
The bulgarian folklore music is unique also with its complicated harmonies and high irregular rhythms. These kind of rhythms (5/8, 9+5/16 a. o.) has not been introduced from musicologists until 1886. Bulgarian folklore music has inspired artists like Kate Bush and George Harrison.
