The building was built in the beginning of the 20th century and was used by the evangelic community "Jerusalem" until 1995. Since some years the church is used only by the Bulgarian orthodox community. The first mass was served for Easter 2003. Since then the holy mass is served regularly on sundays and on saturdays the evening mass is served. An event of a special joy and matter for the community was the inauguration of the church on 29.05.2005, which was held by the Right Reverend metropolitan Simeon, bishop Tihon, archimandrite Harlampi and other clerics. Present at the mass were also the then prime minister Simeon of Sax-Coburg-Gotha with his wife, the bulgarian ambassador in Berlin Mrs. Meglena Plugtschieva and prof. Ivan Zhelev-Dimitrov, director of the Government comission for religious communities in Bulgaria.
The church building is situated in the neighbourhood Neukölln at the Jerusalemer cemetery just at the side of Hermannstr. The exact address is: Hermannstr. 84-90, 12051 Berlin. This is just near the station of the subway Leinestr. (U8).
Every sunday the holy mass is served. Beginning at 10:30. Every saturday from 17:00 and friday from 18:00 an evening mass is served. Furthermore the church is open on all of the main orthodox holidays and other special occasions and partly the corresponding masses are served. These are written separately in the church program. The Chamber choir sings regularly on the sunday and other masses.
